Welcome to the Darker Side of Bill Corbett
You may know me from somewhere else.
For more than three decades, I wrote, spoke, taught, and broadcast about parenting, relationships, and human behavior. But my fascination with why people do what they do began long before that.
I earned my degree in clinical psychology, where one area particularly captured my attention: abnormal psychology.
I was fascinated by the darker side of human behavior. Why do otherwise ordinary people sometimes make terrible choices? What happens inside the mind in the moments before someone crosses a line they can never uncross? And how does a person end up looking back at something they've done and asking: “What was I thinking?”
For years, I explored human behavior from the parenting and relationship side of the equation. Now I'm exploring the other side.

For Bill Corbett, writing has always begun with curiosity. When his three children were growing up, he found himself wanting to understand the perfectly normal—but often frustrating—behaviors that came with raising them. That curiosity led him to become a certified parent educator, begin teaching parenting classes, and eventually develop and deliver a comprehensive parent education program nationwide, earning recognition from Premiere Education Systems Inc. (PESI) and the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR).
Along the way, while earning his degree in clinical psychology, Bill developed a particular fascination with abnormal psychology and psychological disorders—an interest that never really left him. After years of turning what he learned into parenting programs, self-help books, workshops, podcasts, and nonfiction, he finally checked something very different off his bucket list: writing his first psychological thriller.
Parenting and family education will always be the subject matter closest to his professional roots, but dark fiction gives Bill another place to explore something that has fascinated him for decades—the complexities of human behavior, especially when ordinary people begin behaving in extraordinary ways. Today, he continues to write both to help people understand one another a little better…and, occasionally, to keep them awake at night.
